Mixily Wedding Invitations Review (2026): Real Pricing, Free Tier Limits, and What It Cannot Do for a Wedding Weekend

Mixily is a good product that is easy to recommend for the wrong wedding. For one ceremony with one guest list, it is one of the cleanest and cheapest tools available. For a wedding weekend, its limits are structural, and they are visible in Mixily's own setup guide.

All plan limits and prices below are Mixily's published pricing as of 22 August 2026. Re-verify before you pay.

Key takeaways

  • Every Mixily limit is per event, not per wedding. Published free tier: 2 active events, 50 invites, 40 RSVPs and 200 emails a week.
  • A 150-guest, four-function weekend needs Pro at $29/month, and burns 4 of its 10 event slots: four guest lists, four links, four dashboards.
  • The "$29 total" claim assumes one billing month. An eight-week invite-to-wedding window usually crosses two or three, so budget $29 to $87.
  • Mixily's guide handles a differently timed reception with "you can note that in the description," and lists "Whether they're attending the rehearsal dinner" as a suggested custom RSVP question. A text answer, not a headcount.
  • Mixily names its own gaps: "no registry, no website builder, no seating chart." Photo sharing after the wedding is a fourth it does not name.
  • The free tier is genuinely ad-free and guests RSVP without an account, which is more than several better-known competitors manage.

What Mixily does well for a wedding

Mixily does one job and does not clutter it.

A free tier with no ads

Several free invitation tiers pay for themselves by putting ads on the page your grandmother opens. Mixily does not. A free, ad-free invitation with working RSVP tracking is a real product.

Setup in about ten minutes

Title, date and time, a venue that auto-completes into a map link, a description. Save, and the page exists. No onboarding wizard, no upsell wall.

A clean RSVP dashboard and a real CSV export

The dashboard shows invited, responded and attending plus every custom answer in one view, filterable to non-responders, exportable as CSV. Your caterer wants names, meals and allergies in a spreadsheet, and a tool that makes you retype that has failed at its job.

Reminders that nudge only non-responders

Automated or manual, and guests who already replied are left alone. If you have chased 40 people by text, that alone can justify a subscription. Guests need no account and no password.

Real pricing, and what the "cancel after" math assumes

Plan Published price Active events Invites per event RSVPs per event Emails per week
Free $0 2 50 40 200
Lite $19/month 5 100 100 1,000
Pro $29/month 10 250 250 2,500
Plus $79/month Unlimited 1,500 1,500 5,000

A note on pricing in this table. Lumhe's figures are from Lumhe's own current plan documentation. Third-party prices are each platform's published pricing at the time of writing and should be re-verified before you commit a budget, because several of them are promotional, per-event, or quoted inconsistently across the industry's own comparison content.

The three words that change everything: "per event"

Those middle columns are not wedding allowances. One event on Mixily means one date, one start time, one venue, one guest list, one RSVP link, one dashboard. If your wedding is one gathering, that is generous. If it is a welcome party, a rehearsal dinner, a ceremony and reception, and a Sunday brunch, you are four events, and the allowances reset for each while the work multiplies.

What the "$29 total" figure assumes

Mixily makes a fair efficiency argument: the plans are monthly, so subscribe to Pro when you send invitations, use it through the wedding, then cancel. Its stated conclusion is that "your effective cost for full wedding invitation and RSVP management is $29 total."

True, if the whole cycle fits in one billing month. Most do not. Invitations go out eight weeks before the wedding, the deadline lands four weeks out, late responders trickle in, then the wedding. That is two cycles more often than one, and three if save-the-dates come from the same account. The honest range on Pro is $29 to $87.

Where it breaks: one event, one date, one venue

The clearest evidence of the ceiling is in Mixily's own guide.

Their answer for a reception at a different time

Step 1 of Mixily's wedding guide, on the date and time field:

Date and time. Add your ceremony start time. If you have a reception at a different time, you can note that in the description.

Your reception is a sentence in a text field. No separate start time, no venue with its own map link, no separate RSVP, therefore no headcount. If 130 people come to the ceremony and 96 to the reception, Mixily cannot tell you the second number.

Their answer for the rehearsal dinner

Step 2 of the same guide lists suggested custom RSVP questions, including:

Whether they're attending the rehearsal dinner

That line shows Mixily knows couples need per-function responses. The available answer is a question bolted onto the ceremony RSVP, which means:

  • Every guest sees it, including the 110 people never invited to the dinner.
  • The answer is a field on a guest record, not a headcount for the restaurant.
  • Reminders cannot target dinner non-responders, because they follow the parent event's RSVP. If the dinner's date or venue changes, you edit prose.

None of this is hidden, and for a single-function wedding it does not matter. Mixily is consistent about the choice: its own RSVP roundup describes the product as "one event page, one RSVP link," and adds that if RSVP tracking is your only pain point, "that's a feature, not a gap." Fair self-assessment, and it tells you which weddings it means.

What a per-function structure looks like instead

The alternative is not a better description field. It is a data model where a function is a first-class thing.

That is what Lumhe is built around. You create one wedding, then add each function as a sub-event: welcome party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, farewell brunch. Each carries its own date, time, venue, guest list and RSVP. Different guests go to different functions, so the 40 people at the rehearsal dinner are the only 40 who see it. You get a live headcount per function, and nudges reach only the people who have not answered that function.

Three further differences:

  • You upload the invitation you already made as an image, video, PDF or typed text. Lumhe does not design invitations and the template library is not live yet, so with no card you still need Canva or a designer. A video invitation works exactly like an image one, which most platforms cannot accept at all.
  • You find your guests inside the platform by name, phone number or email, connect, and send directly, so your circle carries into the next celebration instead of living in a CSV. You can also share the link on WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram or anywhere else.
  • Photos and gifting outlive the wedding. Moments is a shared photo timeline guests upload to, and it does not expire. Through Digital Lifafa, guests send money instead of a gift: you add your payment ID, the guest pays from whichever app they already use and uploads the receipt, and it arrives in a themed digital envelope you open. Lumhe never touches the money.

Lumhe's honest gaps: no template library yet, no printed stationery, no website builder, no seating chart.

What a four-function wedding weekend really costs

A realistic US wedding weekend: 150 total guests, four functions, different lists.

Function Day Invited Against 50-invite cap Against 40-RSVP cap Free event slot (2 available)
Welcome party Friday evening 60 Over by 10 Over by 20 Slot 1
Rehearsal dinner Friday, earlier 40 Fits Exactly at the cap Slot 2
Ceremony and reception Saturday 150 Over by 100 Over by 110 None left
Farewell brunch Sunday 70 Over by 20 Over by 30 None left

That is 320 invitations and roughly 780 emails once you count the send, two reminder waves and one logistics email. Note that the free plan runs out of event slots before it runs out of invitations, and that a 40-person function sits exactly on the 40-RSVP ceiling.

Total cost by tier

Plan Price 4 events? 150 invites? 150 RSVPs? Weekly email? Verdict
Free $0 No, 2 slots No, 50 cap No, 40 cap No Cannot run this wedding
Lite $19/mo Yes No, 100 cap No, 100 cap Yes Fails the main event by 50
Pro $29/mo Yes, 4 of 10 Yes Yes Yes Works. Real cost $29–$87
Plus $79/mo Unlimited Yes Yes Yes Only above 250 per function

The finding is not that Mixily is expensive. Pro at $29 is among the cheapest ways to send 320 wedding invitations anywhere. Money is not the constraint. Structure is. Pro gives you four working events, then you do the reconciliation: four guest lists, four links, four dashboards, and no view that answers "how many people are eating on Sunday."

Compress the weekend into one event with custom questions and you fit Pro and pay once, but you give up per-function headcounts, per-function reminders, and any way to keep the rehearsal dinner private from the 110 people not invited. That is the real decision.

If you take the four-event route, paste this

[Function name]: [Day, date] at [time] [Venue name, full address] This is one of four separate invitations for our wedding weekend. Please RSVP to each one you receive. Answering here does not cover the others. Dress code: [ ] Parking: [ ] RSVP by [date]. Questions: [your email]

Without that second paragraph, guests assume one reply covers the weekend, and your Sunday number will be wrong.

The 100-guest single-event comparison

For the common single-ceremony case. All figures are as published or as cited by the platforms themselves at the time of writing. Re-verify before you budget.

Platform Cost, 100 guests Basis
Mixily Pro $29/month 250 invites and 250 RSVPs per event
Joy (withjoy.com) $0 Free digital invitations, no stated RSVP cap
Paperless Post About $84–$114 Coin-based. Mixily's comparison cites about 6 coins per guest for a premium invitation, plus a reminder mailing
Evite Premium $99.99 Ad-free tier, stated up to 750 guests. Free tier shows ads to guests
Greenvelope About $99 One-time package fee by guest count, reminders included

Mixily wins on price above its free caps, which is why its own comparison leads with it. That conclusion holds, for one event.

A contradiction in Mixily's own documentation

Worth flagging, because it can cost you a plan decision. Mixily's guide to creating an event, published in 2020 and still live, says the free plan lets you "create unlimited events, send unlimited invitations, collect unlimited RSVPs," and describes Pro as custom branding, custom domains and priority support.

Mixily's plans page, published January 2026, states Free as 2 active events with 50 invites and 40 RSVPs per event, and Pro as 10 active events with 250 and 250.

Both cannot be current. The older guide predates the four-tier pricing. Plan against the pricing page, and if you built an event expecting unlimited RSVPs, check your allowance before you send.

What it does not do

Mixily is upfront: "It's not a full wedding planning suite: no registry, no website builder, no seating chart." Three absences it does not name.

No photo sharing after the wedding

Nothing collects guest photos once the event passes. The relationship ends the day the last RSVP lands, and the photos scatter across texts, an album someone starts on the Monday, and a hashtag nobody uses after the first hour.

No gifting path

No money gifting, no registry. Cash gifting is often the default for guests travelling in, so couples name a Venmo handle in a description field or point guests at a separate site.

No way to find a guest you have no email for

Every guest-list path assumes an email address or a CSV import. The shareable link is a fair fallback, but there is no directory and no in-platform network, so you keep the master spreadsheet elsewhere and start over next celebration.

Who Mixily is genuinely right for

There is a real wedding where Mixily is the best answer on this page.

  • A courthouse or city-hall ceremony with about 40 guests and a dinner afterward, same day, same guest list. One page, one link, one RSVP with a meal question, free. This is exactly the wedding Mixily was built for, and paying $99 elsewhere would be a mistake.
  • One gathering under 250 guests where $29 for a month is the budget you want.
  • You already have a full wedding website on The Knot, Zola or WithJoy for your gift registry and travel pages, and want a cleaner RSVP flow with a proper export.
  • Invitation design is not your decision driver. You want the answer collected, not the envelope liner.
  • You are sending paper invitations and want a digital RSVP link printed on the card.

One caution on the 40-guest case: the free cap is 40 RSVPs, and a 40-guest wedding is exactly 40 responses. A plus-one replying separately, a late addition, a forgotten cousin, and you are over. If your list is 35 or higher, budget one month of Lite at $19 rather than finding the ceiling the week answers arrive.

Look elsewhere if you have two or more functions with different guest lists, need a headcount per function, want the photos somewhere permanent, have a video or PDF invitation you want shown as designed, or want guests to send money through the invitation.

Alternatives by scenario

Judged on the same criteria, including the two almost nobody publishes: per-function RSVP support, and which invitation formats each platform accepts.

Platform Per-function / multi-event RSVP Invitation formats accepted Photos after the event Money gifting Cost, 150 guests
Mixily No. One event, one date, one RSVP. Functions live in the description or a custom question Event page plus your photo No No $29/mo Pro; $0 under 40 RSVPs
Lumhe Yes. Sub-events, each with its own date, time, venue, guest list and RSVP Image, video, PDF or typed text. No template library live yet Yes. Moments, a permanent timeline Yes. Digital Lifafa: guest pays the host's payment ID and uploads the receipt Free forever: event creation, invitations, per-function RSVP tracking and Moments; no per-event charge
Paperless Post A separate paid mailing per function Own templates, limited upload No No About $84–$114 per 100-guest send
Evite A separate event per function Own templates No No $99.99 Premium, up to 750 guests
Greenvelope A separate package per function Own templates plus upload No No About $99 per 100-guest package
Joy (withjoy.com) Multiple events inside a wedding website Own templates, limited selection Website gallery Gift registry $0 for digital invitations
The Knot / Zola / WithJoy Multiple events, RSVP by event on some plans Zola's FAQ states its digital option is save-the-dates; invitations are print-only Website gallery Gift registry Free website tiers, printing extra

One function: Mixily, or Joy if you want free and can live with fewer templates. Do not overpay for a courthouse wedding.

A full wedding weekend: you need per-function guest lists, or you accept manual reconciliation. Lumhe handles it natively, a website builder partly, Mixily with four events and your patience.

After the wedding

Nothing on Mixily is built for the week after, so plan it before you cancel.

Export first. Mixily's FAQ notes paid features stay active through the end of your billing period. Pull the final CSV with meal choices and custom answers the day after the wedding, for thank-you notes, the caterer's invoice, and your address list next time.

Decide where the photos go before the wedding, and put it on the invitation. Between the professional gallery arriving in six weeks and the phone photos taken on the night, there is a gap no invitation tool fills. One shared timeline that does not expire is the difference between 400 photos in one place and 40 in eleven group chats. That is what Moments does on Lumhe, and the clearest thing Mixily has no answer for.

Track the thank-yous. Copy this into a note:

Guest name | Function(s) attended | Money or gift received | Amount | Note sent (date) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FAQ

Is Mixily really free for a wedding?

Yes, within limits. The published free tier covers 2 active events, 50 invitations and 40 RSVPs per event, and 200 emails per week, with no ads shown to guests. That fits a wedding of about 40 people with one guest list. Above that, you need a paid plan.

Are Mixily's limits per wedding or per event?

Per event. The 50-invite and 40-RSVP free caps apply to each event separately, and free allows only 2 active events, so a four-function weekend needs a paid plan regardless of your total guest count. This is the most important thing to understand before planning around a tier.

Can Mixily track RSVPs separately for my rehearsal dinner and reception?

Not as separate events with their own headcounts, unless you create a separate Mixily event for each. Mixily's guide suggests adding "Whether they're attending the rehearsal dinner" as a custom question on the main event, which stores a text answer per guest rather than a dinner headcount, guest list or reminder list. Platforms built around sub-events, such as Lumhe, treat each function as its own event.

Is the "$29 total" cancel-after strategy accurate?

Only if your whole invitation and RSVP cycle fits in one billing month. Invitations typically go out eight weeks before the wedding with a deadline four weeks out, spanning two cycles, and three if save-the-dates come from the same account. Plan on $29 to $87 at published pricing.

How does Mixily compare to Paperless Post on cost for a wedding?

Mixily is substantially cheaper for the same guest count. Pro is $29 a month for 250 invitations and 250 RSVPs per event. Paperless Post is coin-based, and Mixily's own comparison cites roughly $84 to $114 for a 100-guest premium send plus a reminder mailing. Paperless Post's advantage is design, not price.

What is the best alternative to Mixily for a multi-function wedding?

A platform built on sub-events is the structural fit. Lumhe gives each function its own date, time, venue, guest list and RSVP, accepts image, video, PDF and text invitations, and keeps a permanent shared photo timeline afterward.

Planning a wedding weekend? Upload the invitation you already made to Lumhe. Image, video, PDF or typed text. Then find and connect with your guests by name, phone number or email inside Lumhe and send it to them directly. Add each function separately, so your rehearsal dinner and your reception have their own guest lists and their own RSVPs, and you always know the headcount for each one. After the wedding, everyone's photos collect in Moments, a shared timeline that does not expire. Guests who want to send money instead of a gift can do it through Digital Lifafa: you add your payment ID, they pay from whichever app they already use and upload the receipt, and it arrives wrapped in a digital envelope you open. Lumhe never touches the money. You can also share your invitation link on WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram or any other platform. Explore Lumhe.
